The story of

QARÉ Estate

QARÉ Estate is more than a vineyard — it is a commitment to land, heritage, and craft.

Located in Armenia’s sunlit Ararat Valley, our 3-hectare vineyard lies on ancient volcanic soils, scattered with stones that hold centuries of warmth and memory. From these stones, our name was born — “QARÉ”, meaning stone in Armenian.

We chose to plant classic French grape varieties — Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot — on this rugged, unforgiving soil not because it was easy, but because we believed in its potential. Our goal was never to produce large volumes — only authentic, characterful wines that reflect the soul of the place they come from.

Every vine is hand-tended. Every cluster of grapes is chosen with care.
And every bottle carries the story of this small, resilient estate — where French elegance meets Armenian strength.

Notes
Naturally cultivated with minimal intervention. Our vineyard is sustainably managed, with deep respect for the soil, the vines, and the surrounding environment.

Soil

Our vineyard is planted in the deep, volcanic, and rocky soils of the Ararat Valley. Rich in minerals and low in moisture, these soils give our grapes purity, structure, and a distinctive sense of place. The stones retain heat from the sun, helping grapes mature steadily.

Climate

Sunny days, cool nights, and gentle breezes — this is the rhythm of life in our vineyard. The semi-arid climate of the Ararat Valley is ideal for growing premium red grapes, encouraging full ripeness while preserving natural acidity and balance.

Grapes

We grow classic French varietals —
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.
Carefully selected for their harmony with our terroir, these grapes produce wines that are deep, expressive, and balanced with a strong sense of identity.

Solar

The sun of the Ararat Valley is a constant presence.
Its intensity during the growing season brings power and richness to our fruit. With high sunlight exposure and long summer days, our grapes reach optimal ripeness, developing complex flavors and a deep natural color.

Vineyard

A small but carefully tended 3-hectare vineyard.
Each vine grows among stones, hand-farmed with patience and respect. Our limited production focuses on quality over quantity, with every vintage reflecting the story of a single year and place.

QARÉ Estate is located in Aratashen, a small village nestled in Armenia’s sun-soaked Ararat Plain, just west of the ancient town of Vagharshapat.

This region is one of the oldest continuously cultivated areas on Earth — where vine and stone have coexisted for millennia.
With volcanic, mineral-rich soils and over 300 days of sunshine a year, Aratashen offers an exceptional microclimate for growing grapes with depth, structure, and soul.

The altitude, the heat, the stones — they all leave a mark.
And we let the land speak through every bottle we make.
